Ragnar Keys 2012 Reflections:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

*******************************************************************************
Meet Florida Keys Ragnar Team #521 . . . we grabbed the LAST spot for the 2013.  A modge-podge of people from a variety of states.  We all know SOMEONE on the team but we haven't all met in person and won't until the race.   Potential for disaster but even more potential for FUN!!!

We have some fabulous companies making sure we will be stylish, comfortable, and not too stinky as we have a blast in the Florida Keys!

The Bros . . .

(1 guy per van--boy aren't THEY in for an estrogen treat??) :-)

Jason C.  (AKA Runner 4)
Comin' to you from the UK by way of Nashville. Our crazy runner Bro #1 is one speedy little devil... or is it pirate? Either way, hes sure to be a great addition to Van #1.. and with a van full of 5 gals, he's about to get in touch with his feminine side, whether he likes it or not :) Jason likes bananas, running at all hours of the night, and curling up in the back of a van for a quick nap!

Brad C. (AKA Runner 9)
Part of our Florida crowd, Brad has been running for several years.  But when it comes to distance, he likes to laugh at his wife (and fellow Ragnar team-mate) Angela and say "WHY would you run that far?  If I want to run that far I would drive my car!"  OK then.  So Ragnar's a step outside of his comfort zone.

The Does . . .

Kristi D.  (Top Doe and Ragnarian extraordinaire . . .oh, and Runner 2 )
7 mile bridge is miiiiiiiinnnnnnne (sorry Brad)! Super excited to be in miami/key west for Ragnar #6! With some old friends and soon to be new friends! I like night runs, bananas, gu, clean socks, anything with chili and cheese... I dislike running out of tp at the portapoties, van reservations getting lost, and people who bite spoons.

Amanda  AKA TooTallFritz (Runner 1)
As I look forward to 2013 Ragnar Florida Keys, I have a lot of emotions.  I've been thru this process previously to prepare for an ultra team for the 2012 Madison to Chicago event but tore a tendon in my foot 6 days prior to the start. I'm familiar with the preprations but have never expereinced the actual relay.  I'm healthy now and in the process of rebuilding mileage and speed.  This time around, I'm looking forward to forging commaraderie with a van full of 6 strangers, hanging out with 3 other Tough Chiks and leading our team off the startline to begin the amazing journey which will forever be ours and ours alone.  As I look at my life, I wear many hats:  mom, wife, runner, triathlete, blogger, Tough Chik & Distance Diva but for those 36 hours, I'll  have only one hat:  TEAMMATE.   Please join me on this new journey into Ragnar Florida Keys!

Courtney F. (Runner 3)
Courtney !! One of our comical, exuberant, glamorous does of van one! Comin' to you by way of Nashville.. Just don't touch her syrup!  She's no Ragnar virgin!

Toni V. (Runner 5)
First ragnar relay tn in November and Miami and key west will be my second. Really excited to be running the race and see Florida as we run never been to Florida. Can't wait to experience a night run. Excited to meet new friends.

Dawn M. (Runner 6)
Can we get a HOLLA for Dawn?? Comin' at you by way of Wisconsin, this doctor is ready for some running and funning.. Hopefully we don't get injured, but we're in good hands if we do ! Dawn's a bit of a beast, she just ran and rocked on, as the only girl on a 6 person Ultra Ragnar Great River team !!

Angela C. (2nd Doe In Command, Runner 7)

For the past 2 years, Angela has watched Ragnar role through her South Florida neighborhood and wanted to run it.  Thanks to Team Tough Chik, she found Kristi and this year it is a reality!    Angie started running to stay sane, and kept running because she couldn't live without it.   In the summer, Angela prefers to swim, bike, and run . . . but come this winter, its ALL about Ragnar!!!  Angie is also super stoked that TooTallFritz joined the team--Amanda was one of Angela's major cheerleaders when she first started her running journey.

Sarah E. (Runner 8)
Sarah E also comin' by way of Tennessee!! Sarah is a crazy, spunky joker also! Sarah is a Ragnar professional! Sarah loves long runs with a headlamp, sweaty feet and dodgin' Gators (why else would she Ragnar?).

Elana S (Runner 10)
I am a runner, but I hate the gym. When I'm nervous I tend to say inappropriate things. I'm nervous alot. I have an deep fear of roaches. My mother says I have psychological issues with my hair.

Sarah H (Runner 11)
Sarah H. rounds out the Florida portion of our team--in case you can't tell from her picture, she's slightly in love with Lola, her Jeep.   Other obsessions include Honeybadgers (he don't care!).

Wendy D (Runner 12)
Also part of the Nashville 5, Wendy is excited for this Ragnar! She has an affinity for vests and can't wait to rock one  from dusk to dawn! She loves sleeping on a gym floor, Febreeze, and big drinks at the finish line!!
